DEPRESSION

The Facts:

Major Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders in America, and affects about 7% (over 16 million) of U.S. adults, ages 18 and older, each year. Depression does not discriminate who it affects, and anyone can experience symptoms, regardless of their gender, race, age, or socioeconomic status. Although this disorder affects millions of adults each year, only about a third of adults who suffer from depression seek treatment each year. Often, many people avoid treatment, due to believing that depression is not a serious condition or that seeking mental health treatment might make them appear “weak.” However, with the right treatment, most individuals experience complete remission of their symptoms.

Why Choose Integrated Care Clinic for Your Depression Treatment?

The clinicians at Integrated Care Clinic have received extensive training for the treatment of depression with individuals, couples, and families. We pride ourselves on taking the time to conduct a thorough clinical evaluation to ensure that we are treating you, as the client, in a holistic and comprehensive manner. As such, we take the time to integrate data from your early developmental years, family history, medical and mental health history, and life stressors.

What Makes Us Different

Our highly skilled clinicians are experts at differentiating depression from other diagnoses that have overlapping symptoms. Having an accurate diagnosis is critical for informing what type of mental health treatment you receive, especially if you are taking or considering taking a prescription medication as an adjunct to your psychotherapy treatment. Additionally, our clinicians have experience in treating a variety of individuals (e.g., teenagers, adults, Veterans, geriatrics) and are culturally-sensitive to your needs. We focus on integrating cultural variables and/or preferences into your treatment and encourage cross-collaboration with any other mental and/or medical health providers who may be part of your care. Furthermore, we also believe in educating you and/or your family members about your mental health diagnos(es) and options for evidence-based treatments . We believe psychoeducation can enhance the treatment process and help to encourage our clients to take an active role in the therapeutic process.
