Thank you for taking the first significant step toward improving your mental health and well-being. Often times, life happens, and you may experience a wave of unpleasant thoughts and feelings, which can seem overwhelming and unmanageable at times. Naturally, as humans, we don’t like to be in distress, and will typically try to get rid of negative thoughts and feelings when they occur. Sometimes, you may find that the strategies you have used for years to manage how you think and feel no longer work as well. Perhaps, they are effective in the short-term, and less effective in the long-term. Consequently, your distress may start to affect other areas of your life, such as your work and/or school performance, relationships, and family interactions. Chances are, by the time you decided to seek help, you have already tried several methods for changing how you think and feel and have not found any to be effective in the long-term. I’m here to help you develop new, more flexible ways to manage your thoughts and feelings and cope with daily life.
As a behavioral Clinical Psychologist, I have extensive experience in providing evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and complex trauma, to individuals, couples, and families, of all ages, ethnicities, and functional capabilities. Additionally, I also specialize in providing services to Veterans, active-duty service members, and reservists. I deeply value the collaborative therapeutic alliance between myself and my clients, as this relationship is imperative for creating thought, feeling, and behavioral change.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the West Palm Beach VA, and my postdoctoral fellowship at the Bay Pines VA. At both institutions, I received specialized training in treating complex trauma and substance use disorders.
